The Origins of Wakeman and Wright Group 

Wakeman & Wright Group was founded by Graham Wakeman and Stu Wright - two seasoned 

leadership and life strategists who share this deep passion: to see senior leaders become healthy, 

high-performing individuals who can build teams and organisations where everyone thrives in every sphere of life. 

 

The two first met as partners at GiANT London, where they worked together on high-impact leadership initiatives. They forged a deep friendship rooted in their shared values, vision and Christian faith. 

Over time, their friendship and collaboration revealed a powerful synergy - not just in how they thought about leadership, but in how they approached life.

 

This synergy gave rise to Wakeman & Wright Group, a new class of leadership consultancy built to serve the most influential leaders in the world.

 

The meaning behind our name 

When it came time to name the company, they explored various options. But in a pivotal conversation, they looked at our own surnames - Wakeman and Wright - and something clicked. These were not just names. They were their identities. They were callings. They were descriptors of who they are and what they already do.
 

Wakeman

Historically, a “Wakeman” was someone appointed to watch over a city, announce good news, and call people to attention - often serving as a royal representative. The Wakeman was

 responsible for awakening people to what matters: their

 identity, their purpose, and their role in something greater.

 

For us, Wakeman represents our calling to awaken leaders - to help them rediscover their identity and purpose, reconnect with what matters most, and lead from a place of confidence, clarity and conviction, to liberate those around them and leave a 

lasting legacy. 

Wright

The name “Wright” traces back to ancient craftsmen -  

wheelwrights, shipwrights, and windmill builders. These were the builders, the harnessers of power, the creators of tools and 

systems that multiplied human potential.

 

For us, Wright represents the power to build - to help leaders 

pioneer and shape enduring organisations, unlock the potential of people, forge high impact teams, and multiply their influence in every sphere of life.
